The Sk8-Hi , originally called the Style 38, was introduced in 1978 as the first high-top skate shoe. The shoe has an innovative high padded collar for ankle support and a reinforced toe cap. It was the second shoe to feature the iconic Vans sidestripe and at the same time gave the Vans family a whole new look. It was and still is a symbol of the "Off The Wall" culture.
